V&A Museum, Dundee
DATE: January, 2018Maxx Piling supplied over 450 tonnes of U and Z Steel Sheet Piling on behalf of BAM Nuttall for the temporary double walled cofferdam at the mouth of the River Tay, Dundee in March 2015.
These works were necessary to achieve the permanent 25m river projection, which had been designed as the site for the new iconic V & A Museum building.
The cofferdam construction was approximately 140m long by 12m wide encapsulating an area of around 1450m2 between its inner and outer Sheet Piles Walls.
To meet the specific requirements of the client, fabrication works were carried out by Maxx Piling’s Coded welders at their Dordrecht depot. E21 clutch bars were cut and welded precisely as set out by the client’s instruction.
